meet
Ben & Alex
Alex Davis spent most of his life believing that love was something meant for other people. He’d built a quiet, careful world for himself — work, his brother, the occasional no‑strings hookup — and he’d convinced that was all he deserved. Keeping his past locked away felt safer than hoping for anything more.
Until the day he met Ben Larsen at a rock concert.

A quick word from the boys…
Ben’s eyes sparkle. “I knew it!” he says.
“Knew what?”Alex asks without looking up from his book.
“I changed your life.”
Alex lifts his gaze from the battered copy of 1984 and looks at his husband, with amusement.
“Oh do tell.”
“Your life was miserable before me.”
“I don’t know if miserable is the word I would use.” Alex marks his page and places the book on the coffee table before standing and stretching.
Ben considers this a moment. “How about frightful?”
Alex sniggers.
“What about heinous?”
“You’ve been reading the thesaurus with Ally again haven’t you?”
“Dull and boring?
“Hey, parts of it were okay.”
“Like?”
“My work. The gym.”
“Freak.” Ben teases. “Admit it – your life began the day you met me.”
“Wow, someone’s feeling confident tonight.”
“Tell me I’m wrong. Go on.”
Alex taps his fingers against his chin, seeming to consider the challenge.
“How about I tell you, you’re an idiot? Because that, I can assure you is true.”
Ben approaches and slips his arms around Alex’s waist, a smile playing over lips.
“Yeah, but I’m your idiot.”
“Yeah you are.” Alex presses a kiss to Ben’s head. “You want to take Bart out to pee or check the kids?”
“I’ll do Dork Dog, you do the monsters.”
“Good deal.” Alex moves toward the stairs, then turns back. “But yeah – my life pretty much began at that concert.”
“I knew it!”
